Bad Mom

One thing that I absolutely hate doing is clipping Ella's nails. I usually wait till she is dead asleep before I ever attempt it. Her fingers are so tiny and it scares me to go at with her with such a sharp object. Well a few days ago I decided I'd clip them while she was awake. She was in such a happy mood and not even hardly moving, it ended up being the WORST idea. When I got to her tiny pinkie finger she moved it right as I was clipping and I cut her poor little finger. As soon as I clipped it all I could hear was a blood curdling scream, It was so hard she couldn't even breathe. And OOHH the blood..... She cried and then I cried, I felt like the worst mom on the planet, how stupid of me to attempt such a thing with a wiggly baby. I actually debated on going to the doctor until I realized it was actually a pretty small cut, Just a LOT of blood. Well I know babies get bumps and bruises along the way but it KILLED me that her pain was caused by me, mom's aren't supposed to inflict pain on their children. I'll probably wait until she has claws before I attempt this again:)
BUDDIES

Isn't this the cutest picture? Ok so I put Maggie there, but she stayed for quite a while and they both looked pretty comfy taking a nap. I think Maggie is getting better and better about getting demoted, I still think she misses all the attention. And oh boy will she love it pretty soon when Ella starts throwing food on the floor:) We'll have to watch her to make sure she doesn't lick food off of Ella's face.

Goodbye 2009

2009 has been such a good year for us. Most of the year I spent being pregnant, but I was lucky and had a fairly easy pregnancy, I can't complain too much. Christmas!!!

Christmas was so fun this year with the three of us! Everyone is just loving Ella and she was so happy. We spent Christmas morning in Delta and got way too spoiled by Jarrett's side of the family, they got us a video camera!! I couldn't believe it when jarrett opened that gift it was way to nice of them. We also got many other gifts, way too many to count. They also spoiled Ella with just about everything including clothes, toys and diapers. We then went to a yummy breakfast at Craig and Lori's house and headed to Springville to my parents. They also were too generous and got us way too much. After opening a few presents my dad hands me another present with a look of such anticipation on his face. I opened the present and can you guess what it was? Yup, ANOTHER video camera, in fact the exact one that Kurt and Linda gave us but in red instead. Ha ha both families knew that it would be so fun to have one to document Ella on video. Jarrett wants to start rotating family every other year starting next year because it is a lot of work to do both and it is very hard leaving each family. But I have a hard time not seeing both, especially because next year will be extra fun with Ella being over a year old. So we will see who wins next year, this year was a blast!!!

Some of the gifts Ella received

Ella loves this chair and it is so funny to see her sit up in it

So Big!!!

My little girl is getting So Big!! She is awake a lot more in the day and such a happy baby. She just learned to smile back at you on thursday and with a little coaching this is what she does. She is so fun everyday she makes this funny laughing sound and starts kicking her feet when you get her excited. She also lets you know when she's bored, which is a lot when she doesn't have something to look at. It has been so fun these last few weeks watching her learn something new everyday. And also watching her grow, she is growing out of some of her newborn clothes which makes me so sad. We will soon see all of her progression at her two month check up.

Thanksgiving in bed

So as many of you know i've been really careful about taking Ella outside because of all the sickness going around, it seems like everyone is getting sick this time of year. Thanksgiving week I decided to brave it and go run a few erands, BAD IDEA!!! The next day I woke up with the worst stomach cramps i've had in a long time. At first I thought it must be food poisioning, I just couldn't be sick, there was just no way that one day of being in the germ infested world outside my house could have done it. WRONG!!! It ended up being the stomach flu and boy was it intense!! It was the day before Thanksgiving and I was just hoping that I would be well enough to enjoy turkey in Delta the next day, yeah it didn't happen, I ended up just moping in bed all day. Jarrett decided he would try and make the best of having to stay home with me by going to the grocery store while I was sleeping and suprise me with a thanksgiving dinner cooked by him, sweet huh? Well I guess he didn't realize how sick I really was because when I walked out of our room into the smell it just made me run the bathroom!! The next day was a lot better and eventually I was able to eat again, luckily it only lasted for 3 days. The best news was that both Jarrett and Ella were safe from the flu!

On a happier note, for all of you that like to cook and are looking for something new you need to try these Pumpkin Waffles! Yumm they are so so good. They are on this blog http://mymuffinthursdays.blogspot.com/ . Linda introduced me to it and she has so many easy recipies that are so good. It also has homemade syrup that we LOVED that goes on top, it's fun and different for the season.

I started a BLOG!!

So i've wanted to start a blog for a while now but I haven't had time, well actually I haven't MADE the time so here it is!! I now have something to blog about and that is my little girl Ella, isn't she the cutest?? Well I think so but that's in part because I'm her mom, i'll be honest i'm still a little wierded out calling myself that! I've had such a different transition these last three weeks but it has been more wonderful that I could have ever asked for. She is such an amazing little baby and I have been just enjoying every second of it. My favorite thing to do is after she eats is just snuggle as she makes the cutest little cooing noises, I can't get enough! I also love how she just melts Jarrett's heart, I already know he's going to have a VERY hard time saying no to his little princess. Our entire days now seem to revolve around this little miracle and that seems to be just fine with us:) Well I can't resist posting some more pictures of Ella so here are some more, let me know if i'm over doing it just a bit. These were taken at my house when she was just one week old.
