Happy Birthday to my Honey

Happy Birthday to Jarre who turned 28 last Friday. We celebrated his birthday on Wednesday because we left for St. George for Jarrett's Grandma's 90th birthday on Thursday (ok now 28 doesn't sound THAT old). We had some friends over for food and cake, Jarrett insisted on frozen pizza so I had to come up with better tasting appetizers to go along with it. I also attempted to make a cake that was pretty, but also tasted good. It wasn't so pretty, but it was SO yummy! We both love carrot cake, that is what our wedding cake was. Anyway here are some pictures, I had some of the cake but my memory card is got ruined so I had to get another one.

(OK I stole these pics from Jamie, so sorry they're tiny)

Ella is getting so big! She is now 5 months old and her personality is really starting to show. She loves soft things brushing her face so much that she will giggle. She loves to grab Maggie and when she is crying in the car we make Maggie sit on her lap, she always stops crying instantly. She is drooling like crazy still and I can see little bumps where her teeth are starting to come through. She loves when Jarrett plays airplane with her and I love it when a big split ball falls on his head, he he. We hardly ever have to coax her into smiling, she is such a smiley baby, and we love her.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!!

I just wanted to wish you all a Happy St. Patrick's Day and give you a pinch if you forgot to wear green!
Here's just a little update of a few things, first of all my hair is falling out. I've been telling my clients for years that around 3 months post baby a lot of women will start loosing hair and I could see how traumatizing it has been on them. It is really sad when the individual had thin hair to begin with and is losing hair, and there's not much to do about it. Well it's happening to me, it started at about 3 1/2 months post baby and is getting progressively worse. I already have a very thick set of hair so I wasn't really sad about it at first, it was like getting my normal thin out I get with a haircut. But I've noticed it has started around my hair line and now it looks like I have bald spots. I've been so careful with it (something I've never really had to do) but it's falling out like crazy and I feel like a dog shedding everywhere. It doesn't help that Ella loves to grab my hair and is pulling on it every chance she gets. So hopefully my hair can get back to normal soon before I pull a Britney and shave it, lol. here's a pic to prove it.
Secondly I'm in the middle of doing a little renovation, ok not really just building a craft room. I am needing a place to do my scrapbooking, crafting and sewing. I've got a lot to do before the Women's Day Expo next month, I'll be doing a post about it where you can give me your address and I will give you FREE tickets, YAY! I took the following pic of Ella's eyelashes, she' s so lucky they're so long!!
And third, this is kind of silly. On Saturday when Jarre and I came home from errands we had that day at around 5:00 the power was out. It was annoying because we couldn't do anything cook, hot tub, t.v, computer, etc. Well it was starting to get dark so we lit tons of candles all around the house. It was a pain to use the bathroom in the dark but I have to admit it was starting to get, well, FUN! We were being goof balls all night and I will spare you with the silly details but when the power finally came back on we were very annoyed. We pretended it wasn't back on with the exception of making cookies but I had to make them with only the light of the hood vent. It made us very grateful for what we take for granted everyday and we actually had a blast. Ok so we must be very boring people right??

Who does she look like?

So when most people first see Ella the most common question I get asked is "who does she look like?" Everyone comments on how dark her hair is, they don't believe me when I tell them I had really dark hair when I was a baby and so did Jarrett, we both turned toe head blond at around 2. Most people think she doesn't look like either one of us, although there are some who think she is a spitting image of her Dad. Not a lot of people say she looks like me until they see my baby pictures minus the gaubs of hair I was born with. So I decided to post a few pictures of Jarre and I as babies they were the closest to her age, that way you can decide for yourself who YOU think she looks like.

Baby Ella is getting so big! We took her to the doctor last week for her 4 month check-up and the dreaded shots. It turns out that she is on the small side. She weighed 12 pounds even and is in the 13 percentile for weight, 55th for height and 32nd for head. I don't mind her being on the small side because 0-3 month clothing still fits her perfectly. She can roll over both ways now which is bittersweet because I have to worry about where I leave her. She loves this stupid show called Special Agent Oso, I love it though because she will stop crying to watch it she watches it while I'm doing hair. She loves grabbing things and immediately puts them in her mouth, I have to remember to bring toys everywhere. She sleeps through the night most nights, I just found out that that means 5 hours straight instead of 8 like I was thinking because 5 hours is only half the night in my opinion. She is so much fun and is for the most part so happy, my life is so boring and mundane with out her. She is also drooling all over the place, the doctor says it's because she is teething I probably should start putting a bib on her or something but oh well. I'm really excited because recently she has started giggling, it is my most favorite thing to hear it is so high pitched and girly. I am such a proud parent can you tell? which is why she is all I talk about, but you didn't really want to hear about me, right??

Ballerina and Shoes

My little ballerina! Morning time is always so much fun with Ella. She is always so happy and playful. This morning I had the urge to dress her up and take pictures. She thought that the camera was so funny and kept making faces at me, I was laughing so hard. I can't believe what a good little baby she is. I hope she likes ballet as much as I did, I plan on enrolling her as soon as she is old enough.

I've just recently started doing a few crafts. Over the weekend I decided I wanted to start making baby shoes. I'm just beginning to sew so I thought shoes would be a good start for me (don't look too close at the seams, ha ha I'm just learning). They were actually pretty easy to make though surprisingly. My first ones took a lot longer but after I got the idea of how to do them, they're pretty easy and fun. I'm going to make more in every color when I have a bit more spare time. I've also come up with some ideas for some headbands that I think I'll try out, ha ha we'll see....
