Bad Mom

One thing that I absolutely hate doing is clipping Ella's nails. I usually wait till she is dead asleep before I ever attempt it. Her fingers are so tiny and it scares me to go at with her with such a sharp object. Well a few days ago I decided I'd clip them while she was awake. She was in such a happy mood and not even hardly moving, it ended up being the WORST idea. When I got to her tiny pinkie finger she moved it right as I was clipping and I cut her poor little finger. As soon as I clipped it all I could hear was a blood curdling scream, It was so hard she couldn't even breathe. And OOHH the blood..... She cried and then I cried, I felt like the worst mom on the planet, how stupid of me to attempt such a thing with a wiggly baby. I actually debated on going to the doctor until I realized it was actually a pretty small cut, Just a LOT of blood. Well I know babies get bumps and bruises along the way but it KILLED me that her pain was caused by me, mom's aren't supposed to inflict pain on their children. I'll probably wait until she has claws before I attempt this again:)

BUDDIES

Isn't this the cutest picture? Ok so I put Maggie there, but she stayed for quite a while and they both looked pretty comfy taking a nap. I think Maggie is getting better and better about getting demoted, I still think she misses all the attention. And oh boy will she love it pretty soon when Ella starts throwing food on the floor:) We'll have to watch her to make sure she doesn't lick food off of Ella's face.

Goodbye 2009

2009 has been such a good year for us. Most of the year I spent being pregnant, but I was lucky and had a fairly easy pregnancy, I can't complain too much. I'm so excited to start a new year but I have so many great memories of last year. So ode to you 2009, you were yet another wonderful year but it's time to go and let 2010 have a chance. I just can't express how happy I am right now, I feel so lucky to have had such a great year and to get to spend it with the people I love. The best part of 2009 was definitely this little miracle, and the happiness she has brought Jarrett and I as well our family and friends. I can't wait to see what this year will bring but 2009 will be a hard year to top!!!

Christmas!!!

Christmas was so fun this year with the three of us! Everyone is just loving Ella and she was so happy. We spent Christmas morning in Delta and got way too spoiled by Jarrett's side of the family, they got us a video camera!! I couldn't believe it when jarrett opened that gift it was way to nice of them. We also got many other gifts, way too many to count. They also spoiled Ella with just about everything including clothes, toys and diapers. We then went to a yummy breakfast at Craig and Lori's house and headed to Springville to my parents. They also were too generous and got us way too much. After opening a few presents my dad hands me another present with a look of such anticipation on his face. I opened the present and can you guess what it was? Yup, ANOTHER video camera, in fact the exact one that Kurt and Linda gave us but in red instead. Ha ha both families knew that it would be so fun to have one to document Ella on video. Jarrett wants to start rotating family every other year starting next year because it is a lot of work to do both and it is very hard leaving each family. But I have a hard time not seeing both, especially because next year will be extra fun with Ella being over a year old. So we will see who wins next year, this year was a blast!!!
